Best of Grammy’s Beauty 2017

I didn't have the luxury of sitting down with a glass of wine to scope out the rich, famous, and musically talented at this year's Grammy's awards. It's something I love to do, but, hey, there was something called life and a business trip that got in the way! However, I was able to get a quick peek to check out the beauty and fashion scene, which might I add was marvelous. These three looks caught my eye between makeup, hair, and gown. I'm not one to be easily impressed or rave about the latest fad, so when I give my nod of approval, know that it's coming from a very critical eye. I'm an artist! I can't help it.

Katy Perry

Loved, loved, loved it. She makes me want to bleach my hair, tease it out, and wear dark matte lipstick.

Her overall look was spot-on, because it was bold, made a statement, and she owned it. Colors coordinated beautifully, and touches of rose gold shimmer shadow on her eyes complemented the Tom Ford rose gold sequined and feathery-bottomed dress. See the full look here. Probably a little out there for most, to me, this look made the biggest fashion and beauty impact, and is my #1.

Her makeup was impeccably done; almost seamless. Hair was a little on the wild side, yet was elegant accessorized by her gown and classic beauty touches. Just enough contrast, yet just enough subtlety, I give this an A+ rating.

Truly a phenomenal "look". Her peaches and cream complexion kept somewhat in the beige-nude family of makeup tones coordinated beautifully with her strawberry-blond hued hair. Top that with a floor-length olive green gown, she kept it classy yet contemporary.

Like Katy Perry, Adele didn't strip down to nothing, yet looked amazingly sexy, fresh, and modern. Cheeks looked contoured with a beige-rose blush, and lips kept matte, which is big trend now in lipstick. The green in her Givenchy gown brought out the natural undertones in her skin and complexion. Another top rating from me!

J Lo

You gotta give it to J Lo. This is woman who dares to bare and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it. That's what I love about Jennifer Lopez.

Somewhat typical of her style, you can always count on her to surprise us with at least one element of her look. For me, in this case, it was the color she chose to wear. Beautifully dressed in her leggy lilac gown, with long straight hair, and glowing makeup, J Lo appeared ready to take on spring with a huge amount of sex appeal in her Ralph and Russo ensemble.

She knows what works, and typically sticks to it with a few surprises along the way.

Way to go J Lo.
