For this shoot, I closet shopped, meaning I took a trip down Nicolette's clothing aisle. Last time I wore this dress, I wore it differently with a little more elegance. This time, I wanted to give it a funky yet chic vibe.
So, I threw on my favorite jean jacket which looks amazing with everything, my neutral Halston bag, and (at this point) vintage Bebe shoes, and big earrings. I felt an additional layer would finish the look, so I fished out this patterned scarf, and that was exactly what was needed.
Prints done with prints can look awesome, but they have to be done right. There are a few things to keep in mind when working with contrasting prints for a winning look:
Color scheme. Make sure they match, they are similar, or complimentary in some way.
Size of print. For example, big pattern versus small pattern work well together.
Texture. In this case, a heavier scarf works, because I "texturized" my dress a bit with a denim jacket.
So, what do you think? I think I'm all ready for spring!
